"Oreo" Hand Carved Honduran Rosewood Burl Miniature Ovation Guitar is great collector's or musician's piece. It was made in accordance with Old World tradition, hand cut, hand carved, and hand buffed without the aid of computerization techniques or chemical finishes. This gorgeous little cookie was carved from one solid piece of zericote, a masterful overlay of spalted Honduran Rosewood Burl (HRB)on the face, and inlaid brass frets and tuning pegs. "Oreo" comes mounted on a custom freeform zericote base in a glass dome.

All materials used: Honduran rosewood burl (spalted sapwood), zericote wood, brass wire, glass beads. Base of zericote wood and brass rod. Housed in glass dome w/ black acrylic base.
Zericote or ziricote (Cordia dodecandra) grows in Central America and Mexico. Grain is straight to slightly interlocked. Medium to fine texture, with good natural luster. Zericote ranges from medium brown/gray-brown to dark brown, with darker bands of black growth rings intermixed. Zericote has a very unique appearance, which is sometimes referred to as “spider-webbing” or “landscape” grain figure.)
